Just to clear up any confusion, I'm not a chemist!
Arguably the most famous person named Joseph Black is the scientist who identified carbon dioxide. However, he lived in the 18th century and we are not related. Also, I am interested in computer science rather than chemistry (although I have nothing against chemistry...)
